Maritime Centre Vellamo is located in Old Port of Kotka. The building, which resembles a wave, is home to the Finnish Maritime Museum and the Kymenlaakso Museum. Both museums offer maritime and regional history exhibitions, which you can visit independently or with a guide. The icebreaker Tarmo, the lighthouse ship Kemi and the guard ship Telkkä are open during the summer season.
Maritime Centre Vellamo has modern and adaptable facilities for meetings, parties and events. Restaurant Laakonki caters for gourmets, while museum shop Plootu offers souvenirs, gifts and souvenir items.
